Through her artistic work, Lea Deutschmann aims to strengthen empathy, solidarity, connectedness, and the feeling of being part of one big “united gang.” This intention led her to develop the concept A Piece of Art. The idea is simple: a painting featuring a pattern of holding hands is created on canvas, then cut into equal-sized pieces and distributed among different people- like sharing a cake or pizza with friends and family. Participants can purchase a piece of the artwork and hang it in their own home, knowing that others, perhaps even their friends or family members, hold the corresponding “puzzle pieces” of the painting. In this way, everyone involved becomes part of a single artwork and remains connected through art.

You can also purchase a complete painting and have it divided into as many pieces as you wish, to share it with the people you want to feel closer to in everyday life.
